Thirsty Thursday: Blueberry Mojito!

Woah! This year has been flying by and I feel like I haven’t even had a moment to come up for air. “Be like a Duck. Calm on the surface, but always paddling like the dickens underneath.” I love staying busy and am always hustling, but sometimes you just need to stop and smell the liquor people! Summer calls for carefree moments with cocktails in hand. Indulge in a spontaneous happy hour! I promise you won’t regret it :) In this case I made myself one at home. (It’s still considered A cocktail if your glass is double the size right?!) My rather large mason jar sets the tone for a nice personal day.

Blueberry-Mint Mojito

  • Handful of fresh organic blueberries (if in a pinch you can use frozen and thawed), plus garnish
  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons agave
  • Several fresh mint leaves, plus garnish
  • 1/4 cup (2 ounces) white rum
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) club soda
  • Lime slice for garnish


  • Add blueberries, lime juice, agave and a couple mint leaves to a cocktail shaker. Use a wooden spoon or muddler to mash the mint into the mixture. This brings out the aromas from the mint, and infuses the berries into the juice.
  • Add liquor, stir, then pour over ice. Top with club soda. Use the extra berries, mint leaves and a lime slice as a garnish. I used a tooth pick to skewer them all together.


Don’t forget the garnish… I love a little flare!

This light and refreshing cocktail will put you in a state of bliss, so turn on some Jimmy Buffet and watch your worries fade away… Plus, blueberries are packed with antioxidants so you’re basically cleansing right?!
