DIY Bachelorette Decor!

Dear Diary,

Are you ready for a craft explosion?! I know my boyfriend wasn’t when he came downstairs at 5AM to check on me and found me buried in crate paper, glitter, feathers, etc…all the bachelorette essentials :) Definitely not the first time that’s happened, but as long as I don’t drool on any of my projects I’m cool with it.

As y’all know, everytime I have an event I go a little nuts with DIY projects. Not only do I love an excuse to make stuff, I’m also always on a budget and have to get extra creative in order to throw a stylish and unique party for very little. I try to remake old pieces found around the house, Goodwill & the Dollar Store.

I know this might be a lot to take in, but bear with me – it will hopefully get your creative juices flowing!

Tips for planning & fun things I would suggest!

* Branding – Choose a couple colors to repeat throughout your decor! (Generally the ratio of colors are: 60% / 30% / 10%)

* Creating a logo or monogram for your bride makes it more personal! (Use her new initials!)

* Renting a house for the weekend actually helped cut costs because we were able to cook all our meals. (And when I say “we” I mostly mean Lauren. Thanks, “Mom”) This also kept us more healthy and being able to hang out, get ready and eat family style was definitely a highlight.

(Lauren found this wonderful 4 bdrm/4 bath Spanish style home in Santa Barbara for an incredible deal…and it came with a complimentary wine tasting! Score.)

* Umbrellas in your drinks always makes for a better time :) Just sayin’

* Quote book! This was such a fun thing to have for the weekend. One of the girls took it upon herself to become the Secretary of the bachelorette and dictated all the commentary. So funny to read through it at the end of the weekend!

* Lots of champagne! Duh.

Now for the DIY Details!

 Jazz up your Dollar Store plastic glasses!

* Plastic glasses

* Spray paint

* Fun letter stickers

1. Layout bottoms of glasses on cardboard

2. Spray paint them

3. Once they’re dry you can reattach the bottoms to the flute

4. Place the initial sticker of each guest to the glass

DIY geometric paper banner!

* Scissors

* Sewing machine

1. Cut out different shapes out of the paper

2. Feed the geometric cut outs into the sewing machine

3. Leave extra thread on each end of the banner for hanging purposes later

DIY tinsel banner!

* Yarn

* Tinsel

* Scissors

1. Cut your piece of string the desired length for hanging

2. Then cut several 10” (ish) pieces of yarn and tinsel

3. Grab about 3 strings and fold them in half to create 5” (ish) length pieces

4. Tie a knot around the mini bundles with the long piece of string

5. Alternate from yarn bundles to tinsel bundles

DIY Painted antlers!

* Antlers

* Paint or spray paint

I painted these antlers awhile back and never really loved the pattern I chose. It didn’t seem to work with any decor and I decided to repaint them with a more simple approach.

1. Paint the antlers white (or your desired color), leave the ends natural

2. Let that dry (you may have to apply a second coat)

3. Spray the tips of the antler metallic

DIY Champagne Glasses

* Plastic (99 cent Store) champagne glasses

* Spray paint

* Painter’s tape

1. Tape off the section of glasses that you want to remain clear

2. Spray paint the metallic paint on the bottom of the glasses

3. Let dry and then remove tape
