Veuve Clicquot Classic!

Dear Diary,

Last Saturday us girls hit the polo fields at Will Rogers for the 4th Annual Veuve Clicquot Classic! How better to hydrate than champagne on a HOT fall day right?! Cheers…

Let the bubbly flow…

Taking cover under the sun umbrellas. We were still melting…

Saving some champ for Jackie’s arrival! Get here already…

Yay! Jack finally arrived after writing her paper and still had tests to study for later. What a trooper!

We donned our fabulous Olive + Boone custom millinery hats & fascinators. They were so perfect for the occasion, I was in love! I might have to go to the Kentucky Derby this year just to have an excuse to wear this again.

“Divot stomping” is a long standing tradition for the half time of a polo match. It’s when spectators take the field to push the clumps of lawn back in that were taken out by horse hooves.

Dancing or “divot stomping”?!

What a joyful occasion…

I will say this was a bittersweet event for me. I had the best time enjoying fun people and fashion and hearing “NACHO” yelled on the loud speaker every other play (this became a drinking game). But mid way through I received a shocking phone call and left early. I’m so thankful for my wonderful friends who are so supportive and the best people I know! Friends that feel like family! I can’t tell you how thankful I was to have these girls and this man by my side during the rest of a really hard day. More on that in a future post.
